Nicki Minaj’s Father Responds to ‘Nightline’ Interview

Nicki-Minaj’s-Father-Responds-to-Nightline-Interview

During last week’s very personal interview with “Nightline,” Nicki Minaj had some extremely harsh words about her father Omar, describing him as a drug addict and alcoholic who would often threaten to kill her mother. Now TMZ reports that Omar has responded to the singer’s words.

“I wanted to kill [my dad],” Minaj said during the interview. “We were afraid for my mother’s life because whenever he would have a real bad outburst he would threaten to kill her.”

But family sources have said that these stories are exaggerated. While Omar admits to formerly having anger issues, he insists it was never as bad as Minaj led the interviewer to believe, and that he never realized his daughter felt that way about him.

As we recently reported, Nicki Minaj also discussed the better side of family life, and said she realized she could have a career and a family when she observed Madonna’s life path.

“When I saw Madonna,” she said, “I realized it can be done ‘cause I saw her children were coming to rehearsals and that really moved me. But no children anytime soon!”

Nicki Minaj is still riding high with her sophomore album, which is currently the number one album in the country, but has recently deleted her Twitter account response to a fan site leaking her music.
