Famously known for his starring role on “The Jeffersons,” Sherman Hemsley died in his El Paso, TX home at age 74.
At this time, the cause of death is unclear, according to a report from TMZ.
The comedic actor made a name for himself as the loveable character George Jefferson, which he carried on for more than 10 years.
After the finale of his breakout show, Hemsley went on to make appearances on other television shows including "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" and "The Hughleys."
The versatile performer also released his hit single "Ain't that A Kick in the Head” in 1989.
