Disney star Demi Lovato reached a financial settlement with the back-up dancer she punched while on tour in October, RadarOnline.com reports. Alex Welch, the alleged victim, had previously threatened to sue the starlet.
On Thursday, Welch's lawyer, Donald Karpel, confirmed to RadarOnline: "It was confidential negotiations that ended in complete and amicable resolution. She [Alex Welch] is satisfied."
In an interview with Karpel prior to the settlement, Karpel said, "Alex is seeking a settlement, an apology from Demi and a donation made to a charity of her choice."
Welch, who sought medical care for her injuries sustained during the incident, previously told RadarOnline: "I hope to get this settled and put this behind me."
After the alleged incident, Lovato reportedly felt awful for her behavior and proceeded to check into rehab."
"Afterwards, Demi felt awful about her behavior and realized she needed to take personal responsibility for it," said an insider close to the family. "Because of this, and because of the battles Demi has fought throughout her life, both she and her family realized she needed to take steps to get help immediately."
It was then that Lovato decided to enter treatment and address her "physical and emotional issues." She is currently still receiving treatment.
