The Internet is a great many things: a place to find videos of the world's cutest cats, a soapbox for people who want to anonymously scream at strangers and the home of celebrity death hoaxes and the people who love them.
The latest celeb "victim" of this trend is Jackie Chan, who allegedly met his end after suffering a heart attack while promoting his new film.
Website 7 News reported, "A Los Angeles hospital has reported that Jackie Chan has passed away. The legendary Hong Kong actor who appeared in over 100 films died last night following a heart attack. He was promoting his most recent film, 'Kung Fu Panda 2.' Doctors say his heavy schedule was causing extreme stress and putting too much pressure on his heart."
Fans took to Twitter in droves to mourn the martial arts master until the rumor was put to rest by the managers of Chan's account.
To all those who dare to mess with the Chan going forward, please be warned: This man has turned a necktie, a fridge, a ladder, a broom and a jungle gym into deadly weapons, so it's probably wise to keep on his good side.
Watch Chan fight everybody and win.
