Rihanna is setting the record straight regarding rumors that she may be the next big name to score a judging position on Simon Cowell's 'The X Factor.'
The singer, who's one of many celebrities that have been thrown in the pot to possibly join the show, explained that scheduling conflicts prevented her from heading to the singing competition.
"I just heard about it actually, but, yes," she said on Ryan Seacrest's radio show regarding the rumor. "It's something that I would have loved to do, actually. But our schedule doesn't allow and it's a demanding schedule to be on that show. You have to be around months at a time, which is impossible for me."
Other names that have been brought up include Black Eyed Peas member Fergie and Nicki Minaj. Although the latter rap star has since refuted the reports, aside from former Def Jam chairman L.A. Reid, the other judges have yet to be announced. Reid stepped down from his top position at the label last month, and revealed that he will miss the high profile gig.
"I loved the artist roster that we created at Island Def Jam and I love the company and yes, it was difficult. It still is difficult," the longtime music executive told MTV News. "I heard about a remix that Rihanna did with Britney Spears [for 'S&M'] and I was like, 'It's the first time some music has been done that I wasn't involved with and I don't know if I like that or not.' I don't know."
Cowell's show, which originated in the U.K., is among the many singing competitions set to rival his former job at 'American Idol.' Auditions for 'X Factor' resume in Kansas City on April 15.
