The new Queen frontman said he felt bad for the singer when she was given the push from the X Factor.
Pop star Adam Lambert has revealed that he empathises with Cheryl Cole for her “humiliating” X Factor departure.
The talent show participant is about to hit the UK and is also appearing with rock band Queen, and while discussing the industry he said that he felt bad for Cole when Simon Cowell decided to boot her from his show.
He told OMG Yahoo, “"I knew a little bit about Cheryl Cole, she was hired and fired from the X Factor US.
"I felt bad for her, that's tough — kind of humiliating. It is a tough industry, if you can't take it don't sign up for it!
"I've had to grow a thicker skin, I'm not bullet proof — I learnt how to deflect this."
Lambert believes he has more to prove than other acts because he was discovered via American Idol, but he also feels the show was necessary for him to break into the industry despite others believing it to be an unfair advantage.
