His new single “Boyfriend” comes out on Monday, but Justin Bieber had a quick preview of the track during his appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
The “One Less Lonely Girl” singer played fifteen seconds of the song, drawing cheers from the crowd, and a positive review from Ellen, who had predicted how the song would sound during Bieber’s last time on the show.
Justin’s protégé Carly Rae Jepson was also on the program, and Bieber explained how he ended up signing her as his first act.
“I was in Canada and I was listening to the radio and her song came on the radio and I was like, “Who is this?” And a couple of my friends were like, “Yo, this is Carly Rae Jepson.”
“And so I looked her up and a saw all the stuff she’s done, and she’s really talented. And Scooter was like, “She’s not signed,” and she was available so I signed her.”
