Known as the man who ended up sparking the Los Angeles riots, it's sadly being reported that Rodney King was found dead early Sunday morning (June 17).
Police indicate that the 47-year-old's fiancée found him unresponsive while lying at the bottom of their pool and, while Officers responded at the scene and attempted to perform CPR, it ended up being too late.
The latest details tell that King was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:11 a.m. - with a drowning investigation already underway at the residence, though no official ruling as to the cause of death has been announced.
Suzanne Wickham, publisher of the late author’s book “The Riot Within: My Journey From Rebellion to Redemption", conversed about King back in April, saying, “"I spoke with him about a week ago. He was really happy, upbeat and engaged."
Wickman added, "We were talking about him doing college lectures. He'd already gotten an offer from one college and we were hoping to get more. He was really excited. He loved talking to kids."
