Despite the fact that he has worked with well-known hip hop artists like Chris Brown and Drake, Justin Bieber has no interest in becoming a full-fledge rap artist.
“A lot of countries don’t get rap music,” Bieber told MTV. “It is a lot bigger in the U.S. and Canada but not everywhere.”
Justin Bieber went on to explain that the reasoning for his lack of rap ambition is that he is first and foremost a singer.
“I am a singer – that is my passion,” he said. “Rapping is something that I like to do for fun.”
Bieber last showed up rapping on record when he appeared on Chris Brown’s mixtape Boy in Detention.
In other Bieber news, earlier this week he finally announced the official release date for his upcoming studio album. Believe will be released June 19.
One track that may make the record is a duet with Taylor Swift. Bieber’s girlfriend Selena Gomez recently told E! News she had heard the song.
“It’s beautiful,” Gomez said. “I don’t know if it’s going to make it on the record, but it’s beautiful.”
